A famous Swiss director comes to Uzhgorod!

A renowned Swiss filmmaker Fernand Melhar («Album de famille», 1993; «The Fortress», 2008) will visit Uzhgorod in January 2014, during the Third Festival of Short Films "Migration: an attempt to escape or the right to a better life?". The artist from Switzerland will not only join the jury of the Festival of short films, but will also present his film "Special flight" (http://www.volspecial.ch/en/). The film became the winner of numerous European and international documentary film festivals, including Festival du Film des droits de L’Homme; This Human World; Prix Iris EUROPA 2012 and many others.

For three years in a row, the Charitable organization "Medical Aid Committee in Transcarpathia" has held the Contest of short films "Migration: an attempt to escape or the right to a better life?". The idea of ​​the contest is to unite people who are not afraid to create, to talk about the problems of the present time and to think about the future.

To participate in the competition, one has to make a film (up to 20 min.) according to the terms of the contest and send it to the organizers.   The best entries will be shown during the festival of short films, the authors of the best works will be rewarded, and the winner will receive a ticket to the International Film Festival.
