The new highway will begin in Lithuania and run through Poland, Slovakia, Hungary, Romania and Bulgaria up to Greece, the Mukachevo.net reports.
The highway Via Carpathia ("Carpathian Way") will unite seven European countries from north to south. The route will run from Klaipeda to Thessaloniki, while two branches will be built in Romania and Bulgaria – to the port city of Constanta and the border with Turkey.
Also, they consider to make a branch in Ukraine that will run to Odesa.
– The "Via Carpathia" – a new highway connecting the Baltic and the Black Sea, including Ukraine – is on the agenda – the Minister of Infrastructure of Ukraine Volodymyr Omelian said late last year.
In any case, Transcarpathian will be able to enter the motorway in Debrecen in Hungary and Kosice in Slovakia, and from there go towards Greece or Bulgaria by a comfortable road.
