On Tuesday, November 4, at 15.00, in the Uzhgorod Press Club, there will be the presentation of a journalist research about the famous Transcarpathian power athlete Ivan Firtsak, also popularly known under the names of "Croton" and "Ivan Strong", by the Transcarpathian journalist and writer Oleksandr Havrosh.
In addition to the author, the meeting will also be attended by Ivan Firtsak’s son-in-law (husband of his daughter Zira) Stepan Matey, the director of Irshava ethnographic museum Andriy Svitlynets, the deputy of Irshava District Council, founder of the sports club "Croton" Petro Stanko.
Transcarpathian journalist and writer Oleksandr Havrosh was working on his documentary book about the famous Transcarpathian power athlete, Ivan Firtsak, also popularly known under the names of "Croton" and "Ivan Strong", for almost ten years. All the materials, that he has found, are contained in the book "In Search of Ivan Strong," which was published a few weeks ago at the Ternopil publishing house "Navchalna Knyha-Bohdan". Recently, the book was successfully presented at the State Museum of Books and Printing of Ukraine in Kyiv.
