A dangerous item could have cost residents of Uzhgorod district life

Since the beginning of the year, bomb squad has been called to remove explosive items 100 times and destroyed 1689 units of ammunition. 
According to the SES of Ukraine Office in Transcarpathian region, on October 6 at 14:20, rescuers received a report that near the derivation channel on Onokivska street in Uzhgorod, local residents had found a munition-like object. 
Experts of the bomb squad of the emergency rescue unit were sent to identify it. 
"Upon the arrival at the site, the bomb experts found out that the item was a 152 mm artillery shell of the World War II period. The explosive item was removed, transported to a special facility and destroyed by blasting," – the report reads.
