A criminal investigation is being conducted in Beregovo district.

On July 31, 2019, the Prosecutor’s Office of Transcarpathian Region registered a criminal proceeding on the collective statement of citizens regarding the alleged ill-treatment of children in the orphanage in the town of Batyovo in Beregovo district.
In the course of the pre-trial investigation, the arguments set out in the statement will be checked, following which an appropriate legal assessment will be given.
Preliminary legal classification in this criminal proceeding is under Part 1 of Article 367 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine – official negligence, ie non-performance or improper performance of official duties by an official, which caused significant damage to the rights, freedoms and interests of individual citizens, state or public interest.
Pre-trial investigation is being carried out by Beregovo department of the Transcarpathian regional police. Procedural control over the course of the investigation is provided by the Beregovo Local Prosecutor’s Office, the press service of the Prosecutor’s Office of Transcarpathian region reported.
