A citizen of Ukraine tried to illegally carry a child through the checkpoint “Luzhanka”

Yesterday, around midnight, border guards of Mukachevo Detachment prevented an attempt of taking a minor child out of Ukraine.

At the checkpoint "Luzhanka", a citizen of Ukraine tried to take a ten-year-old boy to Hungary. During the passport control, the Ukrainian presented a notarized authorization with the parents’ consent to take the boy abroad. However, during the check, border guards found out that the authorization had been issued illegally, because at the time of issuance, the child’s mother was not in Ukraine. Officers of the National Police were informed about the signs of a possible criminal offense under Part 3 of Article 358 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The woman and the child had to stay in Ukraine.

On the eve of New Year and Christmas holidays, the management of Mukachevo Detachment once again appeals to all travelers, who are planning to cross the border, asking to be careful when receiving their own documents and documents for their children.
