A charity race in support of the medical center in Transcarpathia will take place in Budapest

Today, June 4, on the Day of National Unity, a 500-kilometer race will start in Budapest, which has a double goal: to draw attention to the importance of blood donation and, at the same time, to raise funds for the newly established Center for medical and social rehabilitation in the village of Rativtsi in Uzhgorod district of Transcarpathian region.

The campaign takes place under the patronage of the wife of the President of Hungary, Anita Herceg.

The participants of the race on June 8, 2018 will cross the Hungarian-Ukrainian border in the city of Zahony and run the last 30-kilometer stretch on the territory of Transcarpathia with the finish in St. Michael family-type orphanage in the village of Rativtsi.

A rehabilitation center was recently built in on the territory of this Catholic orphanage to serve as the development center for Transcarpathian orphans.

Two hospitals in Budapest joined the campaign: the St. Francis hospital and the Bethesda Children’s Hospital. The team of doctors of these two hospitals will conduct the rehabilitation and cardiological examination of children on the first working day of the Center, the Consulate General of Hungary in the city of Uzhgorod informs.
