A car driver was killed in an accident in Transcarpathia (PHOTOS)

Yesterday, February 18, at 9:29 pm, police received a report of a car accident in the village of Siltse in Irshava district.
Investigators of the Irshava Police Department opened a criminal investigation into a car accident involving a Mercedes C320 and a Mercedes-Benz Actros in the village of Siltse. As a result of a frontal collision, one of the drivers died at the scene
The police found out that a 29-year-old resident of the village of Zarichchya, driving a Mercedes C320 down Holovna Street in the village of Siltse, drove onto the oncoming lane and collided with a truck. As a result of the head-on collision, the resident of Zarichchya died at the scene.
A passenger of the Mercedes-Benz Actros – a 48-year-old resident of the village of Neresnytsia, Tyachiv district – also suffered injuries. The driver of the truck, a 38-year-old resident of Neresnytsia, was tested for alcohol intoxication. According to the test results, the driver was sober.
The cars were taken to the impound lot of the Irshava Police Department.
Criminal proceedings over the accident were opened under Article 286 (2) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (Violation of traffic safety rules, which led to fatal consequences). The investigation into the case is ongoing.
