A border guard, who was assisting in illegal crossing of the border in Transcarpathia, has been detained

The head of the department of one of the border guard units of the Western Regional Office of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, who, in return for 300 Euros, assisted the citizens of Ukraine in crossing the state border at the border crossing point "Uzhgorod" outside border and customs control, was caught while receiving unlawful benefit.

After the receipt of a part of the remuneration in the amount of 200 Euro on 12.04.2019, the said official was detained in accordance with Art. 208 of the CPC of Ukraine.

At the moment, the person in a particularly responsible position has been notified of being suspected under Part 3 of Art. 368 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine and the court imposed a pre-trial restraint in the form of detention, the General Prosecutor’s Office of Ukraine informed.
