A large lamp – Menorah – was set up on Fentsyk square, near the former city synagogue (and now – the Regional Philharmonic). This is how the Jewish community celebrates one of the greatest Jewish holidays – Chanukkah, the Feast of Lights.
Today, the Menorah is decorated with only two lights, which symbolize candles. It is related to the ancient tradition – every day, at sunset, Jewish families light one candle. The feast lasts eight days, so all eight candles will decorate Channukiah on the last day of the celebration.
