A bicycle activist told about the “train for cyclists” from Uzhgorod to Lviv

The National Coordinator of the AVK Vadim Denisenko rode with a bike on the train from Uzhgorod to Lviv and described his experience.

According to Vadim, the system for transportation of bicycles in trains Uzhgorod – Lviv and Mukachevo – Lviv is already working. The activist noted that, despite the increased comfort, the system has several shortcomings.

"In the first and eighth cars of the trains, there are 18 bicycle holders – Denisenko says. – In order to sit in the train compartment fitted with bicycle holders, one must purchase a ticket for the seats 1 through 18 in one of these cars.You can buy it online, but still have to exchange it at the booking office. A separate ticket "for a bicycle" must be purchased only at the boooking office. There is no online option for the purchase of bicycle ticket."

Vadim Denisenko also complained about the absence of any explanation about the system on the site of the railway company.
