An attempt of one of the guests of our country to illegally carry cigarettes across the border was unsuccessful.
The car "Peugeot", registered in Lithuania and driven by a 36-year-old citizen of Belarus, was headed through the checkpoint "Tisa" to Hungary. The driver chose simplified control lane – the "green corridor". However, upon arrival at the border and customs control, the car was immediately sent for an in-depth inspection.
As a result of the joint inspection of the car, the inspectors found cigarettes "NZ Gold", "NZ Black" (made in Belarus) and "Compliment" (origin unknown) hidden from the border and customs control. Tobacco products were in a specially constructed caches in luggage compartment of the car. In total, the man hid 5984 packs of cigarettes in the car.
As a result, cigarettes were seized and evaluated at 65,824 UAH. The same fate befell the car, which was evaluated at 26,456 UAH, – the press service of the Chop border guard detachment reported.
