Yesterday (11/09/12) Chop customs officers during the clearance of the truck from Hungary discovered undeclared goods worth more than 1.3 million UAH. The truck arrived at customs post "Tisa" with the customs seal of the Hungarian customs authorities intact. However, during the preliminary analysis of foreign trade operations and processing of shipping documents customs officers detected signs that indicated the possible importation of these goods to Ukraine in violation of customs laws. This was confirmed after removing of the seal and complete unloading, calculating and unpacking of all the goods. Actual amount of cargo were 100 items more than stated in the documents. 128 different types of products were not declared: sets of headphones with microphones, microphones, flash cards, web cameras, video players, and more. According to the expert opinion total cost of the goods, excluding taxes and fees, is equal to 2.5 million UAH, including the cost of undeclared goods – 1.3 million UAH. Pursuant to the requirements of Part 2 of Article 191 of the Customs Code of Ukraine carriers are required to verify the accuracy of information on the number of packages, their marks, numbers, external condition of the goods and their packaging. So, for the illicit transportation and providing the customs authority with documents with false data on the number of packages, description of goods and their labeling the protocol was written on the Ukrainian carrier under Article 483 part 1 of Customs Code on violation of customs regulations.
