A batch of contraband cigarettes and adrone were seized on the border with Slovakia

Yesterday, the response team of the "Uzhgorod" department, while checking the airspace and the rear approaches to the border, found signs of an offense. Law enforcers detected possible take-off and landing spots for air targets near the border. Usually, such small aircrafts are used to smuggle goods across borders.

In addition, several hundred meters from the border, border guards detained a citizen of Ukraine, who was carrying a radio station and a night vision device. However, the detainee did not have any IDs.

A little bit later, as a result of searches on the outskirts of Uzhgorod, border guards, together with the investigation and operational group of the National Police, found near a private house a remote control unit, four spare batteries and bags with cigarettes. And with the help of a sniffer dog, law enforcement officers detained another person without documents near the border.

While inspecting the scene, law enforcement officers found a Samsung cellphone with a correspondence with an unknown person, possibly a Slovak citizen, on the exchange of information on drone flight routes.

But the story did not end there. In the afternoon on the same day, a vehicle with Slovak registration driven by a Ukrainian citizen and two passengers, our compatriots, arrived at the checkpoint Uzhgorod.  Border guards found in the trunk of this vehicle a disassembled drone.

Currently, all detainees have been taken to the Border Guard Service department where administrative offense reports were drawn up. And 3.5 thousand packs of tobacco products, the night vision device, the radio station, the drone together with the remote control unit and electronic flight maps, were seized by the National Police, according to the law.
