A 36-year-old woman kidnapped a three-months old boy from Svalyava central district hospital

Yesterday, September 3, about 7 PM a 36-year-old woman kidnapped a three-months old boy from Svalyava central district hospital.

The child’s own mother refused the boy and, by decision of the guardianship authority, the baby was taken to Svalyava CDH for a medical examination scince he was from a large dysfunctional family.

The police found the woman who kidnapped the baby the same day around midnight. It turned out that she was a resident of Ivano-Frankivsk region, and, as she explained, she kidnapped the baby because she wants to have children, but, for health reasons, is unable to give birth.

Currently, the child is returned to the Children’s Department of District Hospital and the kidnapper is arrested. A criminal case has been instituted on the fact of kidnapping a minor child (Part 2 of Art. 146 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). The Criminal Code of Ukraine provides for punishment for a specified crime as confinement for up to five years, or imprisonment for the same term – informs the press service of the Prosecutor’s Office of the Transcarpathian region.
