A 12-year-old boy drowned, at the recreation center in Lumshory

The police initiated criminal proceeding over the death of a child on the water in Lumshory.

Employees of the Perechyn Police Department are studying the circumstances of the death of a 12-year-old boy from Kyiv region at a recreation center in the village of Lumshory Criminal proceedings over this incident have been initiated.

Yesterday, on July, 20th, a paramedic reported to the police that he had pronounced the death of a minor in the village of Lumshory in Perechyn district. The investigative at the scene found out that the deceased was a 12-year-old resident of the city of Bila Tserkva in Kyiv region. The boy came to Transcarpathia with a tourist group of 27 children and 3 tutors. At the time of the incident, the children were in the pool.

Witnesses told law enforcement officers that because of noise they did not notice that the victim needed help. Upon the arrival of doctors, the child was dead. Officers of the Perechyn Police Department are investigating the circumstances and causes of the boy’s death. Criminal proceeding over this incident has been initiated under Part 2, Clause 2 of Art. 115 of the CCU.
