The opening of the solo exhibition of Transcarpathian artist, winner of the regional Y. Bokshay and A. Erdelyi Prize Yosyp Babynets entitled "Landscapes of the Carpathians" took place in a cozy atmosphere of the art salon "ArtPro".
Traditionally this honorable mission was performed by the director of the gallery Volodymyr Nyorba, who intoduced the artist to the public. The musical accompaniment was provided by a musician of the Honored Academic Transcarpathian Folk Choir Sandor Schreiner, who played clarinet and tárogató. Artist Emma Levadska said that she had found there Babynets’s paintings from 1973.
In turn, 83-year-old Yosyp Babynets admitted that he loves to paint autumn, because he is used to the color palette.
And no wonder, as in Uzhgorod College of Applied Arts, where he studied, his teachers were known Y. Bokshay, A. Erdelyi, F. Manailo, A. Kotska. "For me, art has always been in the first place. It is my daily bread and something that I have always been drawn too. Love of art (or maybe a habit) motivates me to work on. And from the distance of time, I see that I do have something to leave behind and to perpetuate our region through paintings" – he said.
