$ 700 bribes: a resident of Vynogradiv wanted to “buy” a border guard

Under the procedural control of the Transcarpathian Prosecutor’s Office, investigators of the National Police of Transcarpathia and officers of the Internal Security Division of the Mukachevo Border Guard Detachment detained a resident of Vynogradiv who tried to bribe a border guard.
The site of the City of Uzhgorod was informed about that by the Press Service of the Prosecutor’s Office of Transcarpathian region.
As it was established, the Transcarpathian wanted to "buy" official information on the placement of border patrols on the state border. Having this infomation, criminals would be able to smuggle cigarettes freely outside the checkpoint.
Today, April 27, the man was arrested while giving the second part of the bribe in amount of $ 400. Prior to that, law enforcement officers documented the fact of giving $ 300 bribes.
Within the criminal proceedings with legal classification under Part 3 of Article 369 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (giving undue benefit to an official holding a responsible position), the priority investigative activities are ongoing. The Transcarpathian was detained in accordance with Art. 208 of the CPC of Ukraine.
The choice of the charges and pre-trial restraint against the detainee is being decided.
