7 years for the murder of his mother: the suspect was sentenced in Irshava district

Based on the arguements of the prosecutor of Irshava Department of the Khust Local Prosecutor’s Office, the Irshava District Court found the 58-year-old suspect guilty in the murder of his own mother (Part 1 of Article 115 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
The incident happened in November 2019, in the village of Zahattya in Irshava district.
During the trial, evidence was presented that the accused, while being intoxicated, hit the 83-year-old woman several times. The victim died of her injuries. The motive for the murder was a domestic quarrel between the mother and son.
After investigating all the circumstances of the case, the court found the accused guilty as charged and sentenced him to 7 years in prison.
Until the sentence enters into force, the accused will remain in custody.
