In the Transcarpathian museum, there was the opening of the exhibition of wooden churches in the Carpathian region, which included the works of 6 photographers with 57 photos of wooden churches in Ukraine, Slovakia, Poland and Romania.
The Consul General of the Slovak Republic in Uzhgorod Janka Buryanova said at the opening that this close cooperation was much needed. After all, Carpathian countries have many similarities in culture and history.
The head of the Transcarpathian Association of Photographers, in turn, said that the aim of this exhibition was to draw attention to Transcarpathians wooden churches, the number of which decreases with every year.
The plans for future include expansion of geography, covering also wooden churches of Lviv and Ivano-Frankivsk regions.
The exhibition of photographs will run for two weeks.
