50th calendar week: no flu epidemic in Transcarpathia

According to the head of the department of epidemic surveillance and sanitary protection of the territory of the Main Office of the State Sanitary and Epidemiological Service in Transcarpathian region Victoria Dordyay, over the last week (as of December 12), 2557 people have appealed to health care institutions of the region about SARS and flu.

68.5% of cases (1,752) are children under 17 years. The incidence of influenza and acute respiratory viral infections in the region is 20.7 per 10 thousand people (last week – 20.5), which is 54.5% below the epidemic threshold and corresponds to the average long-term observed levels. 5.4% of the total of cases (138 persons) have been hospitalized, including 120 (86.9%) children. Epidemic thresholds in districts of the region have not been reached.

Since the beginning of the epidemis season, 4205 persons have been vaccinated against influenza (1673 – from health risk group and 2532 – from epidemic risk group), including 1179 persons vaccinated over the last week. The overall plan of vaccination has been fulfilled by 43.4%.

No information on the registration of cases of post-vaccination complications in the application of immunological drugs against influenza has been received – the press center of the Health Care Department in Transcarpathian region informed.
