50 million hryvnia has been allocated for the restoration of historic buildings in Uzhgorod (PHOTOS)

Historical buildings in Uzhgorod are being restored.  Particularly those located on Petofi Square. 

They are fixing up 5 buildings there. In total, over 50 million hryvnia has been allocated for the restoration of the historic center of Uzhgorod, which will last 2 years. Currently, there are restoring several facades on Petofi Square.

However, a hot debate on the Internet and in local regional press has started about the Uzhgorod Economic Lyceum building. They say that the facade there is too bright. The main question is whether the school will retain its historic character and whether the facade of the building has ever had such bright colors.

2 teams consisting of 14 people are working on the restoration of the facade of the Uzhgorod Economic Lyceum. The restoration is being carried out at the expense of the regional and municipal budgets. According to preliminary estimates, provide more than 1 million hryvnia will be allocated for the project.

As for compliance with the historical appearance of the facade, the contractor Valery Korolev assured a correspondent of the uzhgorod.in that they would do everything in order to preserve the historic character. The employee of the company assures that the historic character of the institution will be preserved and the facade will be restored at a high quality level.
