5,000 liters of “questionable” vodka was seized in Transcarpathia (PHOTOS)

On the eve of Easter, Transcarpathian tax police seized from illegal circulation over half a million hryvnia worth of vodka.

Today, April 29, 2016, in the course of measures to counter illicit trafficking of excise goods, as part of the operation "Excise 2016", officers of the Main Office of the SFS in Transcarpathian region received information about transportation of illegally produced alcoholic beverages in the region. The investigative team immediately arrived at the scene and inspected a truck "Renault Mascot." The vehicle was in a village of Mukachevo district in Transcarpathian region.

As a result of the examination, the following excisable goods without supporting documents were found:

– Vodka "Pshenychna", PET bottles with a capacity of 10 liters, in amount of 250 boxes without tax stamps of Ukraine and identification marks of origin;

– Vodka "Pshenychna Lyubotin" in amount of 5,000 bottles with a capacity of 0.5 liters, with excise tax stamps of Ukraine with signs of forgery.

According to preliminary data, the estimated cost of the beverages is 550,000 UAH, of the vehicle – 750,000 UAH. The truck and the vodka were seized and are kept at the Financial Investigation Department of the Main Office of the SFS in Transcarpathian region.

Currently, priority investigation measures are being taken, subsequently, the incident will be registered in the Unified register of pre-trial investigations under Article 204 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine over illegal possession with intent of sale and transportation with intent of sale of illegally manufactured excisable goods.
