A reader Ivan from Transcarpathia wrote to the "Online book of complaints of Ukraine" to complain about the officials who do not want to build a road for them, allegedly because of lack of money. Meanwhile, there is a good road in a neighboring village. They ask journalists for help.
"In 400 years that our village has been existing not a single penny has been allocated from the state for the street road. Our street is O. Sabad street, the village of Strymba, Rakhiv district. Children have to walk to school on mud from the beginning of autumn till spring. And we have repeatedly wrote appeals to the management of the district, region, Kyiv.
The answer is the same – it is the competence of the village. And the village council says in response – there is no money. At our own expense, we did a soil survey and installed concrete pipes for water, the amount spent was about 70,000 UAH from the street residents. There are 43 houses on our street.
Interestingly, while they tell us that there is no money for the road, we can see, for example, a perfectly good road in the neighboring village.
So where are the money, or do they just not care about us?" – he wrote
