Today, the team of the charity fund "4 paws Ukraine" that helps homeless animals started working in Uzhgorod. The project is being implemented with the support of the local authorities.
According to the Project Administrator Olena Vikhrystiuk, six experts have come to our city, including two catchers, two veterinarians. They are being assisted by the volunteers of the animal protect NGO "Barbos" working in the city animal shelter. Uzhgorod animal advocates know the population of homeless animals and where to find them.
The caught dogs and cats will be brought to the shelter, where the animals will be examined to determine the state of health, sterilized, vaccinated against rabies.
The animal will be monitored for 24 hours after the medical procedures, and if all is well, it will be brought back to the same place where it was caught. The animals, that underwent the procedures, will have blue clip chips with an identification code. By entering this code into the database, all the information will be available, parameters of the animal, when and where it was caught, who carried out which interventions. The database will be transferred to the shelter and maybe to the city council.
The team of the "4 paws Ukraine" will be working in Uzhgorod for about a month.
Uzhgorod residents will also be able to have their animals sterilized at the shelter. Such dogs and cats will be received on Fridays, but by previous appointment by phone 0679212289, 0664880480.
