In Transcarpathia, Santa Claus – a fictional character, primarily known for bringing the presents under Christmas trees – has already started working.
Specifically, several Santas – a friendly company brought happiness to children with special needs. As part of the campaign "Become a Santa Claus!", 27 kids have received their portion of the holiday. Caring adults became Santas for them. They prepared gifts according to letters that were written by children, and volunteers delivered the holiday.
In a large red sack they brought children toys, clothes, sports equipment, gadgets, and sweets. First, the expedition made their way to Svalyava, to the Center of psycho-social rehabilitation of children. Then, Santa Claus visited his real friends – the children of the family of Father Petro in the village of Zabrid in Velyky Berezny district. The family, where five children are brought up, last December took three more orphaned boys and are waiting for the fourth brother, still a baby.
Happy kids not only sang carols, but also presented pictures dedicated to winter holidays. With happy hearts, the mission returned to Uzhgorod to thank all who contributed to a good cause, and above all those who became Santa Claus for the kids and made their Christmas dreams come true. The campaign is ongoing. Next – trips to family type orphanages in Korolevo and Zhdeniyevo, and – to the orphanage in Batyovo.
By the way, you still have chance to receive an honorary role of Santa Claus and become a good magician for kids who really need a holiday – several letters, that can be found HERE, are waiting for their benefactors.
