First, sorting containers will be set in the main building at the BAM and in the administration building, and further plans are to have them set in other buildings. The eco-trend in Ukraine is gaining momentum. More and more people are realizing that it is not difficult to be eco-conscious: waste sorting is easy, recyclable bags instead of plastic ones are not only environmentally friendly but also practical and nice, and drinks are still tasty without a plastic straw. In the new 2020 semester, UzhNU introduces waste sorting. The Media Center found out how it will work.
Waste sorting in the new semester will begin from the main building at the BAM and the administration building. In the future, they plan to set sorting containers in other buildings.
Over time, paper containers will be replaced with wooden containers, plastic bins will be set on the streets and even compost pits will be made near dormitories. Even more: the administration is also thinking of an incentive program for those who sort the waste.
Currently, students, teachers, and everyone, who is interested, are invited to promote waste sorting. Students who are willing to contribute to this initiative are asked to write to the Sustainability Resource Center: dev-center@uzhnu.edu.ua
