On August 2, at 15.00, the sports tournament “Feast of Strength” will be held in the center of Irshava. The event is timed to the 116th anniversary of the famous athlete Croton, who in 1928 was recognized the strongest man of the 20th century.
The Cycling Championship of Ukraine will start in Uzhgorod on July 31 and will run until August 2, the department of youth and sport of the Transcarpathian Regional State Administration informs.

During the City Council session, which is taking place in Uzhgorod, deputies are again considering ways to help the water utility – once again, they state financial collapse.
This refers to the allocation of 2.5 million hryvnias for the utility. Commenting on the subject, the Mayor Victor Pogorelov said that over the last six months, 15,000 Uzhgorod were provided with uninterrupted water supply.
And if the water utility receives more funds (and such proposals in recent years have been put forward at nearly every session), they will be able to provide water non-stop to all the rest of Uzhgorod residents – the mayor hints.
However, at the request of deputies, the draft decision was sent for revision. Recall that providing round-the-clock water supply was one of the promises of the city authorities at the last election.
However, for the past five years, the utility company has been permanently on the verge of financial collapse and under threats of black-out due to perennial debts for electricity.
At the session of the City Council, which is now taking place in Uzhgorod under the close supervision of the public (so close that the mayor even explains the meaning of draft decisions), amendments to the Program of city improvement were adopted.
The document envisages allocation of funds for repairs – mostly intrablock territories.
As noted at the session, the locations had been suggested by deputies themselves, and all of the supported their colleagues and made amendments to the draft decision.

Today, July 31, in Transcarpathian Regional State Administration, there will be the presentation of state awards to members of the families of the Transcarpathian soldiers killed in the ATO.
The event will be attended by the head of the region Hennadiy Moskal, the Acting Military Commissar of the region Oleg Vinnytsky.

Yesterday it was reported that, under the guise of land allocation to participants ATO, the deputies plan to allot land in the park on Svoboda Avenue, near the school №6. Those are paragraphs 1.3 and 1.4 of the draft decision.

Now, there are several playgrounds there, and the entrepreneur wanted to build a residential building there. Today, the City Council reversed its decision and terminated the land lease agreement of 10.12.2008, whereby the land in area of 1700 square meters, located at the address: Uzhgorod, Gen.Svoboda, n / a was granted for limited paid use. 34 deputies voted for this decision.

The head of Transcarpathia Hennadiy Moskal believes that criminal penalties for smuggling of excise goods need to be restored.
– Portnov and Kaletnyk decriminalized smuggling at the time of Yanukovych with only one purpose – to lead it, – H. Moskal said. – The administrative responsibility only encourages trafficking of goods across the border, Ukraine actually feeds transnational crime groups that have sprung up around this profitable “business.”
In neighboring Romania, criminal liability is provided for smuggling just one pack of cigarettes, in Hungary – for smuggling of cigarettes worth more than 100 thousand forints (the cost of about 15 cartons of cigarettes), and in Slovakia – for more than 8 cartons of cigarettes. But in Ukraine, only administrative responsibility is provided for illegal cross-border transportation of goods, including excisable ones. Here is an example – in Transcarpathia, in Tyachiv district (bordering Romania), there is a smuggler that has been brought to administrative responsiblity for cigarette smuggling 163 times.
This fact is a mockery of the helplessness of the state. I will personally prepare a draft law on restoring criminal liability for smuggling of excisable goods and ask several deputies from different factions to register it in the Parliament. As for tobacco product, I suggest:
– to establish criminal liability with confiscation of personal property for smuggling of cigarettes across green border (including that using means of transport, technical means or aircrafts), regardless of the amount.
– to establish administrative responsibility for smuggling of up to 20 cartons of cigarettes through checkpoints, and the criminal liability with confiscation of all personal property – for smuggling of more than 20 cartons of cigarettes.
