The winners of the regional stage of the Nationwide contest of school drawings “My rights” dedicated to the Children’s Day will also be solemnly awarded at the event.

Brewers of Transcarpathia and residents of the region will have another original festival for lovers of intoxicating drink which is to be held in July and will be called St. Petrik Day.

According to the “Tourinform Zakarpattya,” the main drink at the event will be beer produced by Transcarpathian breweries. According to the organizers, it will be traditional, regional festival of brewers and beer consumption culture. Besides beer, in the middle of July, guests of the festival will be offered honey and cheese.

The St. Petrik Day is planned to be held on July 12.

The Regional Prosecutor’s Office was not involved in the yesterday’s accident

Recall that witnesses of the incodent, that occured at a railway crossing near Beregovo, claimed that the car, that had caused the accident, was driven by a prosecutor.

On May 28, the first congress-forum of Tarnscarpathian gastronomy took place in Uzhgorod. The event was attended by the best representatives of Transcarpathian cuisine from 12 districts of Transcarpathia, culinary experts and tourism experts.

The moderator of the event, tourism expert Fedir Shandor noted that this was a historic moment in the Transcarpathian gastronomy. Another reason for the congress was the desire to protect Transcarpathian cuisine and to prevent the “migration” of our traditional dishes to other regions. “Having lost our kitchen, we will lose 50-60% of tourists every year. We can not allow that,” – Fedir Shandor said. According to the organizer Arsen Melkumian, the main aim of the event is to unite around a common cause like-minded patriots of the business and to work for the development of Transcarpathian cuisine in one direction.

During the discussions, the participants signed the memorandum of the forum. The participants declared the Recommended list of Transcarpathian cuisine dishes on menues. Finally, the participants agreed on the next meeting, during which thee will raise the issues relevant to Transcarpathian cuisine and try to solve them. The official part finished with joint planting of the “tree of friendship.”

“Reflection of time” in art

“Reflection of time” – the exhibition under this title opened in the Central city library of Uzhgorod. The author of the works is a talented young artist, the winner of the Nationwide academic drawing contest (the city of Kharkiv 2009), a teacher at the Transcarpathian Art Institute and the College of Arts Vasyl Kohutych.

In his creative activity, it is not the first exhibition of the artist. His paintings have been displayed not only in galleries of Transcarpathian and Ukraine, but also abroad (Hungary, Slovakia, Poland). According to Vasyl, the venue for this presentation was chosen for a reason, because the reaction of ordinary people is important for him, and also young people visiting the library can be introduced to the arts.

The works on display vividly reflect the atmosphere, ideas of the time when they were created and the author’s sincere admiration of plastically-graphic explorations, a librarian of Uzhgorod CCL Andriana Huzak believes.

The presentation of the exhibition was attended by many guests, including representatives of government, students, friends and admirers of his art

The exhibition will be running until June 27, 2015.

The smallest urban secondary school №6 on Pershotravneva (Lemakovytsya) Street – now Vynogradiv educational complex – is well known for its progressiveness. Last year, a training with representatives of the US Peace Corps in Ukraine was conducted there. A volunteer from Los Angeles Robin Lovell taught students English there. Also, the management of Vynogradiv educational complex promotes visits of interesting people from the world of volunteer community to the institution.

The traditional festival of blacksmiths Hamora – 2015 plans to bring together fans of hot and cold metal processing on 27-28 of June in the village of Lysychevo, the Tourinform Transcarpathia invites.

On the opening day on June 27 (from 10.30), the festival of blacksmiths planned for guests an interesting program where anyone will be able to see blacksmiths and how iron works of art are created, all the action will take place during live performances by folk music groups.

The festival of blacksmiths Hamors – 2015 will be officially opened at 13.30.

According to the organizers, the festival of blacksmiths will be attended by around 120 members of folk groups. The program includes ascent up the Kuk mountain, which will take place under favorable weather conditions. Also at the festival, in the tent town, there will be the “Blacksmith bonfire”, which includes firestarting, games and entertainment.

The next day, Sunday, June 28, there will be the “Gala” concert program and the award ceremony. On the same day, at 12.30, there will be the “March parade of blacksmiths.”

On Sunday, June 7, 2015, at 13.30, in the reading room of the Transcarpathian Regional Scientific Library, guests from Eastern and Southern Ukraine will answer these and other questions and share their impressions of Transcarpathia at the press briefing of the participants of the project “Unity in diversity: overcoming stereotypes and conflicts, establishment of dialogue between young people of the East, South and West” that will be visiting Transcarpathia on 5-7 of June, 2015.
