Transcarpathians are not allowed to serve in the 128th mountain infantry brigade – Victor Baloha

The MP from Transcarpathia reported this on his page on Facebook:

“Transcarpathians, who are mobilized to protect the state, are not allowed to serve in our 128th mountain infantry brigade. So decided the General Staff.

Who will benefit from that? The army, servicemen, their parents, us providing help for our soldiers? If they are scattered all over Ukraine, in different units, it will prevent the systematization and logistics of volunteer help and parcels from parents. Maybe for someone it is a mystery, but it is the only thing that allowed the 128th Brigade to survive all this time. The community of Transcarpathia became a professional rear for their countrymen in the East.

Therefore, I do not understand the logic of such decisions. If you can not provide for the army, if you can not guarantee soldiers assistance, care and protection, do not create problems for those who are doing this work in spite of, and not because of the Ministry of Defence and the General Staff.

The commander of the 128th Serhiy Shaptala became the man of the month

The commander of the 128th Brigade was honored together with Mikhail Saakashvili, Serhiy Fesenko, Gary Schilling, Katie Engelgerb and a Russian Svetlana Davidova, who was accused of treason.

According to the “Vlast Deneg”, the commander of the 128th Mountain Infantry Brigade, Colonel Serhiy Shaptala became the man of the month. On February 18, he managed to withdraw 2475 Ukrainian soldiers from Debaltseve.

The President Poroshenko awarded the title “Hero of Ukraine” to Colonel Serhiy Shaptala, the commander of the 128th Mukachevo Mountain Infantry Brigade that was defending Debaltseve.

“Today, not only Mukachevo and Transcarpathian region, but the whole Ukraine is proud of you,” – he said.

The hero said that the soldiers did everything possible to hold their positions.

Battles near Debaltseve were taking place for six months, and during this time, the 128th Mukachevo Mountain Infantry Brigade was there. On February 18, the redeployment of Ukrainian security forces from Debaltseve was finished. Thanks to Colonel Shaptala, 2475 of our soldiers were evacuated from there.
