Smolanka was elected by the open majority

Volodymyr Smolanka headed the Transcarpathian United Center.

This decision was made by open voting at the conference of the Transcarpathian regional party organization, which was held today, March 7, in Uzhgorod, the Mukachevo.net informed. The renowned neurosurgeon succeeded on this post Ivan Baloha who became a deputy at the most recent parliamentary election.

In addition to electing a new chairman of the cell, they formed a new board of the Transcarpathian party organization, and elected its presidium. In addition to Volodymyr Smolanka, it includes Rostislav Fediv, Volodymyr Shkriba, Denis Sobol, Andriy Baloha and Ingrid Turís.

Also at the conference the delegates reviewed the work of the party organization in previous years, discussed the difficult situation in the country, the need for reform and the need for unity in the team before the local elections.

Regarding the development of the cell, the Head of the Secretariat of the Transcarpathian United Center party organization Volodymyr Shkriba reported on conferences of local cells and the replacement of their management, which is a requirement of the time.

Transcarpathia attracts tourists in an original way – by geocaching

Students of the Tourist Club of UzhNU created a geocaching route “The First World War in Transcarpathia,” the Tourinform Transcarpathia reported.

Geocaching (from the Greek “γεο” – earth, and English “cache”) is a tourist game using satellite navigation systems the aim of which is to find a cache made by other players.

The basic idea is that some players make a cache, determine its geographical location using the GPS and post it online. Other players use these coordinates and their GPS-receivers to find the cache.

The largest international game platform is Geocaching.com. On the game site, there are over 1 million caches, in Transcarpathia, there are about one hundred caches created by the Ukrainian community and a few dozen created by Slovak, Hungarian, Polish, Czech and Romanian geocachers.

The years 2014-2018 mark the 100th anniversary of the First World War, so students from the Tourist Club of UzhNU (headed by PhD F.Shandor) created the geocaching route “The First World War in Transcarpathia.”

The route goes through such settlements of our region, as Tyachiv, Yasinya, Khust, Zhdeniyevo, 3 locations in Uzhgorod, Mukachevo, Uzhok, Turya Remety, thus expanding tourism opportunities in our region for this category of tourists.

A real danger of losing composure

On the night of 6 to 7 of March, at the checkpoint “Maly Berezny”, on the border with Slovakia, 20 thousand dollars was seized from a Polish citizen who was leaving Ukraine.

The man, who was carrying the currency, could not cope with his anxiety, which made the border guards carry out in-depth inspection of his valuable car “BMW X6”. As a result, in the compartments under both front seats, they found two packages with the US currency – 10,000 in each. The man admitted that the currency belonged to him.

In accordance with the current legislation of Ukraine, this cash was confiscated and evaluated at 461,810 hryvnia, the press service of the Chop border guard detachment informed.
