The sculpture will be installed on January 27, on the birthday of one of the most brilliant composers in history. This time, the author Mykhailo Kolodko, as with most city mini-sculptures, will adhere to the single concept – the historical figure’s relation to Transcarpathia. And, as it turned out, the famous Austrian composer indeed in some way is related to our region.

“At the end of last year in the Budapest Széchenyi National Library, which UzhNU closely cooperates with, the original of one of the most famous piano sonatas of Mozart’s – “Rondo in the Turkish style – was found, – Mykhailo Kolodko says. – For more than 200 years it was considered lost and the notes were found accidentally – an employee was translating some papers, picked up the notes and recognized the handwriting of Mozart.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Hungary Peter Siarto is visiting Transcarpathia

Today, January 23, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Hungary Peter Siarto is visiting Transcarpathia.

During the visit, the honorable guest met with the Regional Council Chairman Volodymyr Chubirko and the head of the RSA Vasyl Hubal.

First of all, they discussed the socio-political situation in Ukraine. The parties discussed prospects of cooperation in the framework of the Eastern Partnership.

The head of the RSA Vasyl Hubal noted the importance of this visit to Transcarpathia and thanked for the support to the region, to Ukraine’s European integration movement. “Hungary is good neighbor who supports us. We are grateful to the government for investment projects implemented in Transcarpathia. Strengthening of border ifrastucture, transport communication is very important for ​​Transcarpathia and the border area of Hungary. We look forward to assistance in road building, which has already been agreed,” – the head of the region said.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Hungary Peter Siarto noted that the events in Ukraine are of great importance and expressed readiness to continue to assist Hungarians abroad. “We will do our best to make investments go to Transcarpathia. Your region is interested in sustainable development of all national minorities. I know that you have a difficult situation, therefore we are going to help cross-border projects. The government attaches great importance to the development of two checkpoints on our common border. Hungary is also ready to invest in building of a bypass road in Beregovo” – the Minister said.

The Regional Council Chairman Volodymyr Chubirko on behalf of the deputies of the regional council and all Transcarpathians expressed his sincere appreciation to the Government of Hungary for the financial and humanitarian assistance provided for local communities of our region, for contribution to the development of inter-regional cooperation, strengthening of good neighborly relations. And he stressed that cooperation between Hungary and Transcarpathia is strategically important for us not only today, but also in the future. Therefore, for its part, the Transcarpathian Regional Council will do everything to continue this close cooperation.

The Ministry of Justice eliminates state enforcement and registration services due to bribery

The Ministry of Justice will eliminate the State Enforcement and the State Registration Services. This was announced at a press conference, by the First Deputy Minister of Justice Natalia Sevostyanova, the RBC-Ukraine reported.

“We made the decision to liquidate the State Enforcement Service and the State Registration Service of Ukraine”, – Sevostyanova said.

She said the decision was taken due to the high bribery rates in these services.

The First Deputy Minister noted that the powers of the implementation of the state policy in enforcement of decisions and state registration will be transferred to the Ministry of Justice. Earlier, the Minister of Justice planned to transfer functions of business registration to the Chamber of Trade and Commerce.

It should be noted that recently the Ministry of Justice Pavlo Petrenko presented in the Cabinet of Ministers three Georgian citizens who were to become heads of the state registration and enforcement services of Ukraine. Thus, Jaba Tsiklauri and Georgiy Ebanoidze were to take leadership positions in the registration service and Khatia Shelia – in the enforcement service.

In addition, the Ministry of Justice, as part of the reform, plans to switch to a mixed system of enforcement. In particular, in addition to state enforcement officers, it is planned to engage private enforcement services.

There will also be a system of remuneration for enforcement officers for their work.

In addition, Sevostyanova noted that registration functions would gradually be transferred to local authorities.

Sevostyanova said that the Cabinet of Ministers, at the meeting on January 21, approved the decision on optimization of the Ministry of Justice. According to her, under this optimizitaion, the number of structural units of the Ministry will be reduced by half. Also 20% of the central staff of the Ministry will be fired. At the same time, about 10% of employees of territorial justice units (about 2.5 thousand employees throughout Ukraine) will be fired.

Recall that the Ministry of Justice during the optimization plans to reduce the number of its units from 45 to about 25 .

On the Day of Unification, our countrymen were honored

By the Decree of the President of Ukraine №27 / 2015 of 22.01.2015 “On awarding state awards of Ukraine on the occasion of the Day of Unification”, the editor of the Mizhhirya district newspaper “Verkhovyna” Pylypchynets Vasyl was awarded the honorary title “Honored Journalist of Ukraine” for personal contribution to nation building, socio-economic, technological, cultural and educational development of the Ukrainian state, conscientious work and professionalism.

By the same Decree, the head of the Transcarpathian regional branch of the Ukrainian Federation of Dance Sport Myshko Oleksandra was awarded the honorary title “Honored Worker of Physical Culture and Sports of Ukraine”.

Artist Peyter Michael received the honorary title “Honored Artist of Ukraine”.

Transcarpathian choir performed… at the train station

On the Day of Unity of Ukraine, January 22, the known collective impressed with originality once again… and sang in the waiting room of the train station in Uzhgorod.
