One of the special hallmarks of Uzhgorod is the linden alley, located on the right side of the Uzh river and stretching from Nezalezhnist embankment to Studentska embankment. According to various estimates, its length is about 2.5 km and it consists of more than 300 trees, Tourinform Transcarpathia informs.

The alley was planned in the 1920s by Czech architects, who were performing construction in the new Halahov neighborhood.

Its mission is not only to give Uzhgorod residents and visitors fresh air, to create shelter from the heat and place of rest, but also to strengthen the embankment that protects the city from floods.
