The tariff for the population in Uzhgorod – almost 12 UAH per cubic meters – has become unprofitable because electricity prices have increased.
This was stated today, February 11, by the Acting Director of the Municipal Economy Department Oleksandr Kostenchuk during the meeting of the Executive Committee.
He said that in August 2014 – when the tariff for the population dramatically increased from 7 to 12 UAH per cubic meters – it had reached the level of profitability.
However, recently electricity cost has risen from 1.36 UAH to 1.58 UAH – by 17%. So, the tariff again became unprofitable. It is proposed to allocate 500,000 UAH from Uzhgorod budget to cover this difference.
The Executive Committee supported this idea, now deputies of the City Council should adopt the decision.
