100-meter-long flag of Ukraine was sewn in Uzhgorod (Infographic)

Thirty Uzhgorod seamstresses were sewing the flag for a week.

As a result, they made a 100-meter-long yellow and blue flag, which is planned to be used for the first time on August 23, on the Day of the State Flag of Ukraine.

To sew the flag, they used two huge rolls of yellow and blue fabric, 1.5 meters wide each. There was also used a lot of threads for this work – one kilometer. This is due to the fact that the fabric had to be sheathed on the edges.

The national flag was made by employees of Uzhgorod training and production enterprise №2 of Ukrainian Society of the Deaf (UTOG). By the way, they also sew uniforms for the military.

So on August 23, at 9.30, the one hundred meter long flag will be used in a solemn procession. It will be carried from Dukhnovich square the in front of the Transcarpathian Regional Music and Drama Theater to Narodna Square.
