10 thefts of electricity were found this week in Mizhhirya district alone, more than fifty – throughout the region

The "Zakarpattyaoblenergo" PJSC informs that during the last working week, that is from 9 to 13 of May this year, employees of the Company revealed 52 thefts of electricity.

In particular, they made 43 reports of violations by households and 9 reports of violations by legal entities (private entrepreneurs, companies, firms, etc.).

Most cases of illegal interference in the power grid among households over the past week were found in Mizhhirya district (10 violations). Most often, electricity was illegally consumed through damaging of meters (11 cases) damaging and removal of seals on metering devices.  Another frequent violation over the last period has been the removal of the indicator of alternating magnetic and electric field impact.

In the legal sector (private entrepreneurs, companies, firms, etc.) facts of thefts were detected in 5 districts. Most violations were observed in Rakhiv district (5 cases). Thus, the most frequent violation was the use of electricity for business activity, which must be paid at the appropriate tarrif, and damaging of metering devices (damage to the meter housing, broken glass, etc.).

Also during the last week, Committees to review reports of violation imposed fines totaling UAH 201.00 thousand, of which:

– Among households – for 197,350 UAH

– Among legal entities – for 3,650 UAH.
