This was reported by the bishop of Uzhgorod and Transcarpathia of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine Barsunuphius.
Bishop Barsunuphius is not telling which parishes are going over to avoid pressure on the priests, but noted that decisions will be made at public hearings.
– Until yesterday, there were three parishes, which declared their intention to join the local church in Transcarpathia. As of this morning, I know about ten such parishes, – Bishop Barsunuphius said.
Now, they are collecting signatures, preparing for public hearings, they will be held in the near future.
The bishop added that people often call them and ask for support.
– For my part, I give the parishioners, who have declared their intention to go over to the OCU, legal and moral support, – Barsunuphius said.
According to him, the Transcarpathian diocese of the OCU keeps the parishes preparing for the move in secret because of the great pressure on these communities by the ROC.
Recall: recently the community of the Church of the Intercession decided to go over to the Orthodox Church of Ukraine.
