The police seized from a resident of Rakhiv district poppy, and from a resident of Solotvyno – hemp

The law provides criminal penalties for growing one hundred or more plants of poppy and ten or more cannabis plants. It is necessary to know this in order not to have problems, but not all people, unfortunately, take this into account. 

Thus, Rakhiv district police station received a telephone message from a concerned citizen that in the village of Lazeshchyna a local resident was selling poppy near his home. The investigative team was sent to the scene. As the police found out, the 55-year-old man was illegally cultivating poppy in the garden near his home. The police seized 137 plants of poppy, which were sent for expert examination.

 Meanwhile, Tyachiv police officers found and seized 11 cannabis plants in the garden of a 32-year resident of the village of Solotvino in Tyachiv district.

Another resident of Tyachiv district, a 24-year-old resident of the village of Bushtyno was caught by the policemen on the street of his native village with 10 grams of marijuana.

All three defendants in the case will be braught to criminal liability.
