Alexander Usyk successfully defended his unified heavyweight world champion title for the second time. He achieved a knockout victory over the British boxer Daniel Dubois.
The 36-year-old Usyk has held the heavyweight titles since 2021 when he first defeated Anthony Joshua by unanimous decision. Since then, the Ukrainian boxer had a rematch with the British fighter and retained the WBA, WBO, IBF, IBO, and The Ring belts.
Dubois entered the fight as the “regular” WBA champion. After suffering a single defeat in his career, a knockout by Joseph Joyce in 2020, the 25-year-old Englishman had a streak of four consecutive victories, boasting a total of 19 wins in 20 fights.
After the bout, Alexander Usyk dedicated his victory to the Armed Forces of Ukraine (see video).
