Investigators at the Uzhgorod Police Department opened a criminal investigation into the robbery combined with violence. Police found the offender within minutes. He was detained under Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine.
Yesterday, November 18, at about 5:20 p.m., the police received a report of a robbery at the intersection of Kapushanska Street and Svoboda Avenue. Officers of the investigative team and a crew of the patrol police arrived at the scene and found out that an unknown person had attacked a resident of Mukachevo district. The attacker pushed the woman, who was just leaving the store, snatched a bag from her and fled in an unknown direction.
Within minutes, police managed to find and detain the robber. He turned out to be a 43-year-old resident of Kropyvnytskyi, Kirovohrad region.
Police investigators opened a criminal case over the robbery combined with violence under Part 2 of Article 186 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. Currently, the suspect has been detained under Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine and placed in a temporary detention facility. Material evidence has been seized and will be returned to the owner in the near future.
According to the sanction of the article, the detainee faces imprisonment for up to 6 years.
