At the customs post "Uzhgorod" on the Ukrainian-Slovak border, Transcarpathian customs officers documented violations of customs legislation by providing false information.
Thus, a 40-year-old resident of Lviv, who works as a driver in one of the Lithuanian companies, entering Ukraine in a RENAULT truck with a SCHMITZ semi-trailer with German license plates, submitted an invoice for customs clearance. The document stated that the seller of the vehicle was a London company (UK), and the buyer was a Lutsk company (Volyn region), the cost was 5200 euros (truck) and 2270 euros (semi-trailer).
However, during the inspection, the inspectors had doubts about the authenticity of the documents submitted for customs control and registration. Therefore, on the basis of the current agreement between Ukraine and the European Union, officials of the Transcarpathian Customs of the State Customs Service initiated a meeting with Slovak customs officers. The latter reported that according to the documents provided by the driver on the Slovak side, the seller was another company, the buyer was a citizen of Ukraine from Lviv, and the cost of the semi-trailer is much higher – 3900.00 euros.
Thus, the driver took actions aimed at moving across the customs border of Ukraine goods – semi-trailer "SCHMITZ" model "S01" – concealed from customs control by submitting to the customs authority forged documents and documents containing false information about the value of the goods and its buyer, consignee and seller.
These actions have signs of violation of customs rules provided for in Part 1 of Article 483 of the Customs Code of Ukraine.
Therefore, the truck with the semi-trailer, with a total value of over UAH 300,000 were seized pending court decision.
