According to the State Emergencies Service of Ukraine Office in Transcarpathian region, on September 9, at 9:10 a.m., the Rescue Service received a report of a dog that had fallen into an open manhole. The call was made by workers of the sawmill located on Lysenko street in the Horyany neighbourhood in Uzhgorod.
Their dog had disappeared the day before, and only on Wednesday did people hear barking from bushes. As it turned out, the German shepherd had accidentally fallen into about 2.5-3 meters deep manhole.
The emergency rescue unit was sent to the scene. Using a special tool, the rescuers pulled the shepherd out in a few minutes and handed him over to the owners.
