A project, that dispels myths about our region, has been launched in Transcarpathia

The communication project on the westernmost region of Ukraine called "Re:Open Zakarpattia" has been implemented in Transcarpathia since June.  It is designed to draw positive attention to Transcarpathia, refute the negative stereotypes about this region that have accumulated in recent years, as well as to form ideas and solutions for the development of this multicultural region on the border with the EU. This was reported to the correspondent of the Ukrinform by the analyst, project initiator Dmytro Tuzhansky. "In recent years, for a number of reasons, Transcarpathian region has become associated primarily with negative events or phenomena, such as separatism, smuggling or criminal conflicts. But this is a misconception about the region. In fact, Transcarpathia is perhaps the most underestimated region of Ukraine in terms of potential, and we want to talk about all this – through research, reports in local and central media, online and offline discussions, including a 2-day forum with experts, organization of trips to the region," – Tuzhansky explained. According to him, the initiative of a new discussion about Transcarpathia will return it to the Ukrainian discourse, so that the country and the world reopen the region.
