According to her, on the night of August 27, an unknown man broke into her house and, threatening her with a knife, took from the woman 3,000 hryvnias and a mobile phone.
"The police of the Irshava department found out that a 30-year-old resident of the village of Bilky had broken into the house of the single old woman. The day before, he returned from seasonal work and on the way home went into the woman’s house and committed the crime," – the spokeswoman added.
The man was detained and placed in a temporary detention facility. Law enforcement officers confiscated from him the mobile phone and money and will return it to the owner. The man is being checked for involvement in other property crimes in the district.
Criminal proceedings were opened over the crime under Part 1 of Art. 187 of the Criminal code of Ukraine. The detainee has already been notified of being suspected. He faces three to seven years in prison for the crime.
