As previously established, a 34-year-old resident of the region organized the illegal importation of covert audio and video surveillance equipment into Transcarpathia, which he then planned to sell in the region. From the outside, the devices looked like ordinary household items: watches, flash drives, pens, lighters, and so on.

The offender was stopped by officers of the Security Service of Ukraine while he was trying to cross the Ukrainian-Hungarian border at the checkpoint "Vylok". While going through customs clearance, the man chose the "green corridor", thus stating that he did not have things to declare. However, eavesdropping devices were found among his personal belongings.

The prosecutor’s office of the region provides procedural control over the ongoing investigation, the Press Service of the Prosecutor’s Office in Transcarpathian region reported.
