The ex-director of Uzhgorod airport and two other officials are suspected of embezzling almost UAH 1 million

The managers are suspected of embezzlement and forgery of documents (Part 5 of Article 191 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, Part 2 of Article 28, Part 1 of Article 366 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). The actions of the technical engineer of the Transcarpathian regional state administration are classified as assistance in embezzlement of public funds and forgery of documents (under part 5 of Article 27-part 5 of Article 191, part 5 of Article 27-part 1 of Article 366 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine) The investigation found out that the defendants, having conspired among themselves, reduced the scope of work performed for the reconstruction of the fence of the international airport in Uzhgorod without reducing the cost of work, the site of the city of Uzhgorod informed. 

Thus, the cost of works, according to the tender, was UAH 7 million. At the same time, the expert confirmed that the actual cost and scope of work performed, which was accepted by officials, was overstated by more than UAH 960 thousand.

Currently, the investigation is being carried out by the investigators of the National Police of Transcarpathia. Operational support in the proceedings is provided by operatives of the Security Service of Ukraine Office in Transcarpathia region, the Press Service of the Prosecutor’s Office of Transcarpathian region reported.
