Transcarpathian customs: more than 800 protocols at UAH 171 million for the first half of 2020 (PHOTOS)

In the first half of 2020, officials of the Transcarpathian Customs of the State Customs Service drew up 839 reports on violations of customs rules. The total value of the confiscated items is UAH 171,320,824, which is UAH 77 million more than that for the same period last year. The offenses are: – tobacco products – at UAH 823,791; – food products – at UAH 2,257,534; – vehicles – at UAH 29,368,427; – industrial goods – at UAH 137,996,221; – household appliances – at UAH 651,438; – narcotic and psychotropic substances – 27 cases; – weapons, ammunition, special equipment – 6 cases.
The most typical violations in the customs area are violations of the terms of delivery of vehicles to the destination customs office, non-declaration of goods, vehicles, exceeding the term of temporary import or temporary export of goods, transportation of goods across the customs border of Ukraine hidden from customs control. During the first 6 months of this year, 745 such cases were initiated, which is 88.80% of the total number of the detected offenses. The most high-profile case was the attempt to import mobile phones, tablets and other devices worth a total of over UAH 93 million hidden from customs control.
