Information citizens! Transcarpathian customs is taking measures to speed up control on Ukrainian-Hungarian border

Transcarpathian customs of the State Customs Service informs that a significant number of personal vehicles traveling from Ukraine to Hungar has accumulated in front of the checkpoints for road transport on the Ukrainian-Hungarian border "Vylok-Tiszabecs", "Luzhanka-Beregsurany", "Kosyno-Barabas", "Dzvinkove-Lonja", "Chop-Zahony". As of 11:00 on 14.07.2020, their number reaches 50 to 150 vehicles. The main factor that caused the accumulation of the said vehicles in front of the checkpoints is the opening of transit through the territory of Hungary to Ukrainian citizens entitled to temporary or permanent residence in the European Union through the checkpoints "Luzhanka-Beregsurany" and "Chop-Zahony". Also one of the reasons is the statement of the Minister of the Office of the Prime Minister of Hungary Gergel Gulyas on stricter rules for crossing the state border of Hungary, which will be introduced on 15.07.2020 by the Hungarian authorities to prevent the spread of the virus from abroad.
Officials of the Transcarpathian Customs of the State Customs Service, Mukachevo and Chop border guard detachments have already held a working meeting with representatives of the Hungarian customs and border authorities to take joint measures to speed up customs and border control to avoid queuing in front of the checkpoint.
