Hungarian President Janos Ader called on Ukraine and Romania to stop polluting rivers after Hungary’s two largest rivers got filled with plastic waste.
The letters addressed to the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky and the President of Romania Klaus Johannis are posted on the official website of the President of Hungary.
"It is disappointing that the pollution rate of the Tisa River has not decreased… and poses a long-term threat to the fragile ecosystem of the river," – Ader said in a letter to Zelensky.
"Our machines can no longer handle piles of garbage that are coming in huge amounts," – Ader said.
