During the last day, May 17, 423 people sought emergency medical care, 7 of them had symptoms of acute pneumonia, 6 were suspected of having COVID-19.
This was reported by the director of the department of health care of the Transcarpathian Regional State Administration Yelizaveta Birov.
216 samples of biological materials were collected for polymerase chain reaction (PCR) testing and sent to the virological laboratory for examination.
16 persons were confirmed to have COVID-19.
Overall, as of 9:00 am on May 18, 2020, 901 patients have been diagnosed with COVID-19. Of those, 201 are health care workers, 57 are children. 7227 polymerase chain reaction tests have been performed.
189 patients have recovered.
In total, since the beginning of the pandemic, according to the Department of Health of the Transcarpathian Regional State Administration, 24 deaths from COVID-19 have been reported in the region
As for Uzhgorod, as of the morning of May 18, 334 Uzhgorod residents have been confirmed to have COVID-19. This was reported by the health department of Uzhgorod city council and Uzhgorod city and district branch of the State Institution "Transcarpathian Regional Laboratory Center of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine".

In the last 24 hours, mobile crews have made 1 visit, 10 samples of biological materials have been collected for polymerase chain reaction test. In total, since the onset of the disease, 323 visits have been made, 1429 samples of biological materials have been collected for PCR tests.

The tests were conducted by the Virology Reference Laboratory of the Public Health Center of Ukraine, as well as by regional laboratories. As of the morning of May 18, 2020, the Center has received 560 reports of suspected COVID-19 cases.
